Huey Magoo’s opening new chicken tenders restaurants in Apopka, ChampionsGate

Local chicken tenders chain Huey Magoo’s is spreading its wings, opening new restaurants in the coming months in Apopka and the ChampionsGate community, the company announced Tuesday.

The chain founded near UCF in 2004 is planning to expand to its eighth and ninth stores.

The Apopka location is heading into a shopping center near Publix at 446 S. Hunt Club Blvd. in Apopka. The company expects to open the new restaurant in October in a 3,100 square foot space. It will be a franchised location run by restaurant founders Matt Armstrong and Thad Hudgens.

The second new Huey Magoo’s in the ChampionsGate community in Osceola County will head to a 1,875-square-foot building at 8316 ChampionsGate Blvd. Franchisees Chris and McKenzie Cohen will head that location.

Huey Magoo’s is known for its grilled and fried chicken strips, french fries and a variety of sauces.

The two new restaurants will also both feature redesigned interiors and exteriors.
